A slow but steady spring housing season has started! As is elsewhere, in our market area there are many frustrated sellers. Sellers are now faced with the understanding that buyers have a tremendous inventory to choose from and many have reduced their prices to reflect that fact. Buyers we have worked with over the last few months are determined to get the most for their money and the lenders are pushing them to do so.Those of us at Bergeron Real Estate who have been through many of this business's cycles, have become accustomed to the ups and downs. Interest rates are still at historic lows and prices have dropped on resale inventory. New construction is sluggish, with builders offering buydowns and extras as incentives. Many buyers believe that if they wait long enough, prices will crash. Further declines are probable, but not of the cataclysmic nature some buyers are hoping for.
